You may have heard this saying :
There is 24 hours given to us everyday and it is up to us to decide what you want to do with it.
You see, I love and I enjoy working with my clients at the salon. I never seem to have enough hours in a day to do all my work, and my clients bring me so much joy. I genuinely care for them and it's important to me, that they leave the salon happy and feeling good about themselves.
Essentially, the life of a hairstylist, is a different lifestyle. We work long hours, most of evening and weekends. We are constantly giving ourself, serving clients needs and the jobs can be physically, mentally and emotionally draining but it can also be very rewarding.
The trick is, find balance...
Essentially, develop a formula that work for you.
For exemple: have as much playing time as working time. Spent time with your family, exercise, do meditation..etc
When my children were born, I made some major adjustment and changed for my work schedule. I was overwhelm, tired and anxious. I decided to changed my worked schedule.
It was clear to me, I needed to be more effective and productive in condensed work days. So I decided to work three long days a week (Wednesday,Thursday and Friday)...... It worked !!!
It was absolutely a blessing. It allowed me to be present and engage with my family on my days off. I was able to managed my professional life better.
Now, my children are adult. I have no regret what so ever for changing my work schedule. It made me so happy to watch some of my associate and co worker made the same changes.
There is something hairstylists are extremely good at, it's called ADAPTING....
